Golf Tournament Purpose

To support the children and families in Orange County who cannot afford the various programs offered through the YMCA.  We will achieve this by bringing the Orange County members of the YMCA Adventure Guides together for some great golf and, thus, supporting the YMCA's Campaign. The tournament is open to anyone who would like to join.  See further down for tournament details.

YMCA's Campaign

Campaign is the name for the annual YMCA fundraising effort where monies raised go to help those who cannot afford the various programs offered through the YMCA.  These programs range from pool safety, to gym membership, to child care, to elder care, to Adventure Guides and more.  In the era of COVID and the widespread financial challenges faced by many, our focus on Campaign is more critical than ever before.

"Think of giving not only as a duty but as a privilege" - John Rockefeller

By the numbers over the last few years:

- Campaign has helped, on average, more than 60,000 families per year

- Of the monies raised, there is a 1-to-1 ratio between what is collected and what is given.  There is $0 loss to overhead costs

- The YMCA, each year, gives more money to scholarship than it raises through Campaign

- In 2019 specifically, funds were used to help:

- 91 Adventure Guides families and 188 children

- 199 campers went to Camp ELK

-505 children received child care

- 711 individuals accessed Health and Wellness programs

- 452 people participated in pool safety programs

- 394 children were helped via youth sports programs

- 56 children earned bikes, helmets and locks through the Obesity Prevention Program

- $76k in scholarships went to Special Needs Programs

To help the Orange County Adventure Guides group contribute to the good deeds the YMCA does, we are holding our annual charity golf tournament.  We are seeking sponsorship in varied levels to help keep the overhead of this event low such that the vast majority of monies raised contributes directly to Campaign.

Mulligan Packages (Good, Better, Best)

For the folks who aren't regular golf of tournament players, below are some helpful definitions:

Mulligan - take a bad shot? Don't stress.  Put the ball back on the tee, set the ball back down on the fairway or the green and try again

Grenade Balls - worried about the lie of your ball, well don't worry - be happy!  "Grenade Balls” can be thrown instead of hit with a club. This may give you better accuracy and is surely an interesting spectacle on the course! Use it from a sand trap, from the ruff or to toss onto the green!

Red Tee Advantage - tee off from the red (ladies) tee box and give yourself and your team a scoring advantage by being a bit closer.  This can be used once per foursome should each member have purchased the Best Mulligan Package

Good Package - $25

Includes (1) Super Ticket and (1) mulligan

Better Package - $50

Includes (1) Super Ticket, (2) mulligans, Red Tee Advantage and (1) drink tickets at #19

Best Package - $100

Includes (1) Super Ticket, (3) mulligans, (1) grenades, Red Tee Advantage, Closest to Pin Advantage, (2) drink tickets at #19 and (2) 50/50 entries

50/50 Raffle

A 50/50 raffle will be run where the winner takes 1/2 the pot!  The other 1/2 will be added to the fundraising effort for Campaign.

Raffle tickets will be prices as follows: $20 per ticket, (5) tickets for $50 and (15) tickets for $100.
